Ideas are so exciting in the stage of contemplation and development. Making these ideas reality is the difficult part. As an artist I know that ideas count for very little and it probably takes 1000 ideas to make one solid piece. As an avid cook and baker I know that dreaming about food is not half as wonderful as tasting it and that I don't learn anything if I don't try. As a gardener and grower of food I know that planting the seeds is one step but there is a lot of nurturing and tending that must happen before they yield fruit.
The biggest idea that I have brings all of these passions of mine into one, still only dreamed of, place. This place is the farm which I hope to one day make my home and livelihood. I hope it will be a place where I will tend the soil, grow, share and eat food, and create in many different ways. As I wait and anticipate my future farm I am gathering knowledge from my daily life but I also want to make sure that I expand beyond this and continue working on projects. The tools I gather and things I try are part of the road, or maybe just a path, that I am on toward this dream of a farm becoming reality. This is the spot where I will do my best to chronicle the projects, experiments and experiences along the way.
